CASE INSPECTIONThe first step in the reloading process is to inspect each case to make sure it is of the proper caliber, while looking for damage or flaws that may affect the function and performance of handloaded ammunition. These flaws can include cracks in the case, large dents, or corrosion. Always watch for a bright colored ring around the case just above the web that is often an indicator of likely head separation. Discard any cases possessing these obvious flaws, as well as cases of unknown origin. It is always best to begin the reloading process with clean, uniform cases. |
