SYNOPSIS: A
team of NRA Certified Firearms Instructors will provide the NRA Basic Metallic
Cartridge Reloading Course. The 8-hour course deals with the basic
knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to safely reload metallic cartridges.
The fee covers the NRA Reloading textbook; NRA Safety Rules pamphlet; (the
students can keep the previous items); The course covers:
Introduction to Reloading and Reloading Safety:
Describe the firing process. Explain the reloading process and why people
reload. Name and explain the fundamental safety rules for reloading.
Center fire Cartridge Components: Learn the
proper nomenclature for center-fire cartridge components: cases,
primers, powder, and bullets.
Using the Reloading Manual and Reloading Data:
Select a suitable load for a particular metallic cartridge from a reloading
manual. Identify useful ballistics information for a particular metallic
cartridge load in the ballistics tables in reloading manuals.
Metallic Cartridge Reloading Equipment:
Identify the equipment necessary to reload metallic cartridges. Explain
the proper operation and maintenance of reloading equipment and the requirements
for a basic reloading bench.
The Metallic Cartridge Reloading Process:
Set up and operate reloading equipment and reload a metallic cartridge.
Basic Metallic Cartridge Reloading Practical Exercise:
Set up and operate reloading equipment. Reload a metallic cartridge.
Course Review and Examination:
Successfully complete the NRA Basic Metallic Cartridge Reloading Course written
examination.
