I can remember the fishing trips with my family as a kid. There were four
kids, 3 boys and 1 girl. Dad did his best to keep us under control while he ran
the boat, untangled the mishaps and netted the fish that actually jumped on the
hook. I also remember the first tournament I entered with my son. It wasn't the
winners or the prizes I recall, but the great times we shared, joking and
kibitzing between us. Camping with new friends young and old, the Dutch oven
cooking and the time spent around the campfire at night creating memories. There
was the early morning fresh air, filled with anticipation just prior to getting
out on the water. Every person that joins the tournament will have their own
story to tell, whether they joined to win prizes, for the fun of fishing or just
to get away from the city. The one common bond is the Master Angler of Dundee
Sportsman's Club Inc
Tournaments.

The Master Angler of Dundee Sportsman's Cub Inc
Tournament Trail offers the novice and the
experienced angler an excellent opportunity to get out and go fishing. At every
event the participants learn varied angling techniques and practice conservative
fish handling. The contestants enjoy a friendly and healthy competition between
man and nature while enjoying the beauty of Michigan. We have selected lakes
that will suit the average family while providing decent camping. The schedule
allows participants a two-week breather between events and a chance to
re-organize for the next.
The tournaments are structured into categories for Children: (under age 11),
Juniors: ( age 11 to 15) and Adult: ( age 16 plus). No one person has a distinct
advantage over another and in many cases, youngsters have out fished adults.

We created a system of points-by-length, measurement only by our
certification committee. The fish receive minimal handling, resulting in
healthier releases. The history of the Master Angler of Dundee Sportsman's Club
Inc Tournaments show
we have lead the way with catch-and-release and have innovated the measurement
only system. Our fish mortality has been recorded by Fisheries Biologists at
less than 1 %, beginning in 1995, a record unequaled in the Michigan. The Master
Angler is the family oriented fishing tournament at Dundee Sportsman`s
Club Inc.
To create a greater challenge for each angler, points are credited for the
longest Northern Pike, Perch and Walleye caught, with the opportunity to upgrade
scores over two days. The highest accumulated score for one fish of each species
wins.
