Hunter Education Certification
is required for young hunters in Units 7, 13, 14,
15, and 20. If you were born after January 1, 1986

Certified Hunter Education Course. If you were born

immediate supervision of a licensed hunter who has

Training course. Certification is NOT required to
purchase a hunting license, but proof of
certification must be carried while hunting, e.g.

hunting license. Individuals under 12 years of age
must be accompanied* by a person who is at least 17
years of age or older licensed to hunt in Texas.
Individuals between 12-16 years of age must
successfully complete a Hunter Education course or
be accompanied* by a person who is at least 17 years
