When going fishing always check the weather
forecast and take suitable clothing for your trip. If sea fishing
wear nonskid shoes and always take waterproofs. |
Remember to tell someone where you will be fishing and what time to
expect your return.
You should always fish in pairs especially on rocky or dangerous
marks, and always keep a look out for each other.
When casting, always make sure you have plenty of space all around
and always leave plenty of room between yourself and the next
person. If you are fishing in tight places then warn the other
people so they can move first. |
It is inadvisable to wear chest waders on the rocky surfaces. Rubber
tends to be slipy and if, lets hope not, you do fall into the sea
waders will fill with water and drag you under.
If you decide to travel along the rocks carry the equipment, don't
fill pockets with items like lead weights.
If you see someone in trouble help as far as possible but don't be a
hero, call for assistance.
Always take care when using sharp implements and treat them with
respect.
Carry a small first aid kit for those small emergencies. A minimum
should be plasters and antiseptic cream. (old hooks and rotting bait
can cause nasty infections)
If you are taking children fishing always take them to safe fishing
locations and act responsibly, show them how to behave, the dangers
and also the enjoyment in fishing.
If you are going to bring alcohol with you on a fishing trip, only
drink in moderation and limit yourself as you would if you were
driving.
If you turn up to a fishing trip suffering the affect of alcohol,
other members in the trip will have the right to stop you from
fishing. If the fishing trip is by boat then you will not be allowed
to sail, and your share of the costs will be forfeited.
All rubbish, old hooks, line, cans etc., should be taken home and
destroyed properly so not to cause damage to the environment,
wildlife and other fishermen.
If possible carry a mobile phone. |
Respect the country code whenever you are.
