The purpose of the Firearms Identification Guide is to aid Michigan law enforcement agencies in the accurate identification of firearms and to make their descriptions compatible with the State Central Gun Files and the Automated Pistol Registration System when they are registered, entered as stolen, or queried.

A publication prepared by the Legislative Service Bureau pursuant to Act 381 of 2000, which requires the Bureau to "compile the firearms laws of this state, including laws that apply to carrying a concealed pistol..." MCL 28.425a(9). The firearms laws compiled herein are reprinted from the text of the Michigan Compiled Laws,supplemented through Act 92 of the 2006 Regular Session of the Michigan Legislature.

Sweatshirts to be Available for Order
Dundee Sportsman’s Club Logo Sweatshirts orders can now be placed through Wayne Sweet. The sweatshirts are a 50 - 50 blend for minimum shrinkage. The sweatshirts will be green with the logo silk screened in white. All sizes through XXX will be available. A minimum order of 10 sweatshirts is required by the silkscreen person to process the order. COST: $20.00 which must be paid in advance.

Send A Kid To Camp
At the February 2nd Membership meeting the Club voted to pay to send two DSC youths to the Week Long Residential Camp at the Cedar Lake Outdoor Center, near Chelsea, Michigan. The youths chosen to go will be selected by a drawing on April 15th. Eligible participants are children or 1st generation grandchildren of DSC members, ages 9 through 15. To enter your child or grandchild (does NOT extend to great grandchildren) enter their name on the signup sheet posted at the Club.

Do you have your Hunter Safety Certificate?  A Firearm Hunter Safety Class will be held on April 9th, 11th, & 12th.  Those successfully passing the class will receive their Firearm Hunter Safety Certificate.  You must attend all three sessions and pass the exam to receive your certificate.  Registration starts at 4:30 PM on April 9th.  All classes start at 5 PM and end about 9:30 PM.  This class DOES NOT includes Hunter Safety for bow hunting.  A future Hunter Safety Class will include both firearm and bow hunting safety training.

D.S.C. Spring Cleanup Day April 28th

April 28th has been designated “Dundee Sportsman’s Club Spring Cleanup Day.” Work starts at 8 AM and continues until all is done, or 5 PM—whichever comes first.  You can help by bringing some of your own yard or gardening tools—brooms, rakes, shovel, chainsaws, weed whackers, leaf blowers, etc.  The Club will provide garbage bags and other miscellaneous tools.  The goal for the day is to clean up the Club grounds including picking up garbage, weeds, sweeping, raking, and pruning trees and cutting up dead wood.  This is a great way to earn your work hours.  Even if you cannot participate all day your help is needed and appreciated. 
Coffee, donuts and lunch provided.

D.S.C.  Spring Indoor Rimfire Pistol League April 17th
Spring Indoor Rimfire Pistol League April 17th

The Spring Indoor Pistol League starts April 17th and runs for eight weeks.  Shooting times are 12 PM to 7 PM.  The league is open to any rimfire handgun.  Firearms are not allowed to be used on the archery targets— archery targets must be moved to the side before shooting firearms. Entry fees are:  $30 for DSC Club Members and $40 for Non-Members.  A sign-up sheet has been posted at the Club.

The Horseshoe League organizing meeting will be held on April 17th at 7 PM.  If you are interested in pitching horseshoes plan to attend this meeting.  Pitching will start May 7th.  For information call Eve Cook at:  734-777-4146

The April 7th ATA Shoot at DSC will start at 9 AM and will continue until all are finished.  Prizes will be awarded. The kitchen will be open for lunch.

Rimfire Rifle Positional League Starts April 25th

Attention Rimfire Rifle Shooters!  The DSC Rifle Rimfire Positional League starts April 25th and runs for 10 weeks.  Shooting times are on Wednesdays, 12 noon to 7 PM.  Each session you will shoot four targets, five rounds per target from the following positions and distances:
 

   Standing 25 yards from the target -- Sitting or Kneeling 50 yards from the target

Sitting or Kneeling 75 yards from the target -- Prone 100 yards from the target
 

 The target used is the NRA B16 target.  Entrance fees are $30 for DSC Members and $40 for non-members.  A sign-up sheet is at the Club.

 There is a demand for kitchen services for the Thursday Trap shoots.  The Club is looking to create two person teams, who, on a rotating basis, would operate the kitchen for the Thursday Trap Shoots.  The Club would like enough teams formed so each team would only have to commit to one Thursday Trap Lunch each month.   Volunteers  are needed  from 9 AM to about 2 PM.

The next Concealed Pistol License Class will be held on May 18th & 19th.  The Friday night session (5 PM - 9 PM) is held at Cabela’s. The Saturday session (8 AM – 4 PM) is held at the Club.  Cost is $125; which includes lunch at the Saturday session.  Tell your friends about the DSC CPL Class—you do not have to be a Club member to take the class.  This is the last CPL Class for 2011.  A sign-up sheet is at the Club or call Head Instructor Royce Florence 734-529-5410.
